Preparing for Year End in eSchoolPLUS 4.0

Description: This seminar is designed for school districts concluding their first school year on the eSchoolPLUS Student System and for those needing to roll their students to the next grade level to open school in the Fall.  Year-End Criteria guide your students into the next grade level, building, calendar, etc in Demographics.  This course will cover the development of Year-End Criteria and preparing your database for rollover.

During the program you will learn:

  • How to direct your users to prepare student data for rollover
  • How to determine where and how your students move through the school district
  • How to prepare criteria that will move your student appropriately
  • How to test your criteria prior to updating your live database
  • How to configure district-defined programs to close and open according to district policy

Description: eSchoolPLUS includes At-Risk calculations and maintenance features to help you more quickly identify and better serve students in your school district. Attendance, Progress Reports, Report Cards, Behavior and Demographic information may all be used to tag students as At-Risk. During the session you will learn to configure and run the At-Risk calculations.

During the program you will learn:

Cognos 10: Prompts, They Aren’t Just for Filters Anymore!

Description: In this session, we’ll explore how to use prompts to select fields to appear in chart and list reports, set page breaks and sort orders using prompts, and how to place prompts on your html report results page to allow users to easily re-prompt. This session is designed for those with some experience with Cognos Report Studio who want to take their prompts to the next level.

During the program you will learn:

  • How to sort based on a prompt
  • How to define a page break using a prompt
  • How to display an item in a chart using a prompt
  • How to select a column to appear in a list using a prompt
  • How to conditionally highlight a data item based on a prompt
  • How to add prompts to your html views for re-prompting

Description: eSchoolPLUS contains options for calculating students eligibility for activities based on Behavior, Progress Reports, Report Cards as well as Attendance. This seminar will review the setups required for each calculation and demonstrate the eligibility calculation process.

During the program you will learn:

  • How to setup and calculate eligibility based on Behavior
  • How to setup and calculate eligibility based on Progress Reports
  • How to setup and calculate eligibility based on Report Cards, including GPA and marks

Report Card Processing in eSchoolPLUS 4.0

Description: This seminar is designed for those who will be processing Report Cards for the first time and for those who want a refresher on the basics. We’ll go through the whole process starting with entering grades in TAC and eSchoolPLUS and ending with the final print of Report Cards.

During the program you will learn:

  • How to prepare student records for Report Card Processing
  • How to gather grades from Teacher Access Center and eSchoolPLUS
  • How to calculate Averages, Honor Roll, Credit, GPA and Graduation Requirements
  • How to print Report Cards and post them to HAC
  • How to run base reports, including the Student Mark Summary to find students with selected marks

Behavior and Success Plan Referrals

Description: Referrals allow your teachers to track issues in the classroom and then escalate them, when appropriate, to administrators in your school district. In this session we will explore the setups required for Referrals and walk through the process of recording issues as a teacher in Teacher Access Center. We will also examine the process of referring conduct issues to an administrator and creating a Behavior incident based upon the referral.

During the program you will learn:

  • How to configure referrals
  • How to track issues in the classroom
  • How to track actions taken in the classroom
  • How to escalate referrals to eSchoolPLUS
  • Examine the two-way communication between teachers and administrators
  • How to escalate a referral to a Behavior Incident or Success Plan

Cognos Graphing & Workspace for Discipline data

Description: This seminar is designed for school districts wishing to learn how to graph their testing data and create a graphical workspace (dashboard) of their data. Session will be conducted using Cognos 10.2.2 but districts can use any version of Cognos 10 to create workspaces in Cognos. Experience with writing cognos reports is required. Session will address student discipline data, for consistency purposes, but techniques are applicable to most other tests stored in ESP data. Attendees will get copies of reports created in the session, and will need to tweak them to meet district needs; you will need to construct your own workspace using these reports.

During the program you will learn:

  • Overview of graphing dos and don’ts
  • Overview of best practices with regards to graphing data
  • How to have consistent & meaningful graphs
  • How to have graphs that will work well together
  • Dashboard messages & intent
  • How to create filters that modify multiple graphs

Cognos for TAC

Description: This seminar is designed for school districts wishing to learn how to set up reports for their teachers.  Session will address folder security and create a TAC folder for teacher Cognos reports. Reports will be created such as a class list, students with medical alerts. Demonstration of impersonation to see what a teacher would see is also addressed. Attendees will get copies of reports create in session & may need to tweak them to meet district & environment needs.

During the program you will learn:

  • Enable TAC in ESP
  • Checking existing ESP Cognos folder security
  • Proper creation of additional folder for TAC reports
  • Creation of TAC reports using TAC  filters
  • Teacher impersonation

Description: This seminar is designed for school districts wishing to learn how to expand capability with respect to multiple queries. You will learn when to use multiple queries and how to join multiple queries into a single list.   Session will be conducted using Cognos 10.2.2 but districts can use any version of Cognos 10 to create reports in Cognos. Experience with writing cognos reports is required. Attendees will get copies of reports created in the session, and will need to tweak them to meet district needs.

During the program you will learn:

  • Overview of best practices with regards to multiple queries

  • How to have use null queries
  • How to place multiple lists in a single report
