Cognos Form letters for eFinancePLUS

Description: During this session we will create a form letter so that each employee is on a separate page. Form letters can be true letters or employee information forms that can corrected by staff.  We will create a basic form letter and a template that can be used for other types of content.

During the program you will learn:

  • Learn to insert page sets & adjust groupings for single student per page
  • Learn to create a true form letter for HR
  • Create a template to be used for other letters
  • Insert a list of dependents and  adjust master detail relationship

Cognos Graphing & Workspace for HR data

Description: This seminar is designed for school districts wishing to learn how to graph their testing data and create a graphical workspace (dashboard) of their data. Session will be conducted using Cognos 10.2.2 but districts can use any version of Cognos 10 to create workspaces in Cognos. Experience with writing cognos reports is required. Session will address HR data, for consistency purposes, but techniques are applicable to most other tests stored in EFP data. Attendees will get copies of reports created in the session, and will need to tweak them to meet district needs; you will need to construct your own workspace using these reports.

During the program you will learn:

  • Overview of graphing dos and don’ts
  • Overview of best practices with regards to graphing data
  • How to have consistent & meaningful graphs
  • How to have graphs that will work well together
  • Dashboard messages & intentHow to create filters that modify multiple graphs
  • How to create filters that modify multiple graphs

Cognos Multiple Query reports for eFinancePLUS

Description: This seminar is designed for school districts wishing to learn how to advance their cognos report writing skills using multiple query reports. Session is for experienced report authors who have written reports using report studio. Participants will learn about inner & outer joins and how to effectively use multiple queries in a report. Null queries will be addressed as well as use of multiple list queries in a single report. Session will be conducted using Cognos 10.2.2 but districts can use any version of Cognos 10 to create workspaces in Cognos. Experience with writing cognos reports is required. Session will address HR and other data, but techniques are applicable to most other EFP data. Attendees will get copies of reports created in the session, and will need to tweak them to meet district needs.

  • How to access multiple queries using query explorer
  • Overview of best practices with regards to multiple queries
