Empowering Teachers

With assessment, grading, and learning tools necessary for instructional improvement and student success.

PowerSchool is the only K-12 education platform designed to empower teachers with the tools needed to promote student success in one unified classroom experience.

At PowerSchool, our mission is to improve the K-12 education experience. We believe to do so we must start at the heart of education – our teachers. Providing the tools and technology needed for instructional improvement is necessary to maximize time spent in the classroom, allowing teachers to do what they are most passionate about – teaching and connecting with students.

Making a difference in teachers’ lives

PowerTeacher Pro, our 21st century gradebook, was designed for and with teachers, from thoughtful placement of tools to quick-access daily workflows to help improve teachers’ workday. Our technology helps teachers to spend less time on administration, more time on education, and to get back time at the end of their day. It also empowers teachers with real-time insights into student progress such that teachers can target growth areas, watch the light bulb turn on, and truly celebrate with students with they show successful growth.

When Pennsylvania’s Hatboro-Horsham School District was looking for a new student information system in 2002, its primary goal was a system offering real-time student data and a parent portal for improved communication with families. But what it received was a comprehensive solution that transformed its entire system of business practices and impacted the lives of teachers. “Teachers save many hours because they no longer have to calculate their standards by hand,” Denise Schlorff, Coordinator of Information Technology.

Nothing beats knowing you’ve made a difference in the life and education of a child

What we find exciting at PowerSchool is that our technology provides easy-to-digest data insights to teachers about their students and classes that enable them to adjust instruction in real-time. PowerSchool allows teachers to pinpoint growth areas, and to get engaged in growth. Empowering teachers to create assessments builds assessment understanding and boosts their motivation in the classroom too.

Beginning with the 2015-16 school year, the Tennessee Department of Education implemented new online summative tests for English language arts and mathematics for grades 3-11. This TNReady initiative prompted Johnson City schools to re-evaluate their formative assessment testing solution, seeking a tool that would better prepare teachers and students for the online format and provide teachers with resources to easily create assessments and produce analytics to more effectively guide instruction.

"[PowerSchool Learning] really makes it easy for our teachers to embrace cloud-based learning, flip their lessons, and promote paperless classrooms. With little training, teachers are able to develop classes and share resources with their students and parents. We now have our principals using [PowerSchool Learning] for their professional development and communication with staff, and they absolutely love it! This year, we have developed several online classes for teachers to enroll in, and we are using badging for principals. Thanks [PowerSchool Learning] for all that you do!!"
