Every year, KIPP Jacksonville Schools in Jacksonville, Florida, aim to provide their school community with innovative tools to attain success. Thousands of applications are submitted to KIPP Jacksonville Schools each school year. “We were managing too much paperwork which didn’t increase efficiency or provide us with the opportunity to cultivate strong relationships with our prospective and current families,” notes Kimberlee Logan, Student Services Manager at KIPP Jacksonville Schools.

Previously, Logan and her colleague, Catherine Herman, couldn’t access student data in an efficient manner because they weren’t receiving all of the required information before the first day of school. Some families would note that their child takes medication but didn’t provide specific details, such as the name of the medication or dosage instructions.
“It became imperative to implement an electronic solution that requires parents to fill in certain fields during registration prior to submission. KIPP Jacksonville Schools request information from families for emergency contacts, student transportation requirements, student medical history, IEPs, signatures for policies, and more. “We were easily distributing and collecting 6-12 forms per student, but the smart logic built in [PowerSchool Registration’s] online enrollment solution captures relevant data from our families based on previously entered information or choices. This eliminates parents receiving information that isn’t pertinent to them,” notes Herman.
Families with multiple children attending the school are also able to ‘snap’ data from one student to another. KIPP Jacksonville Schools’ solution provides them with the most up-to-date and accurate data by the first day of school.
