Brookstone School Transforms its Admissions & Enrollment Processes for Prospective and Current School Families

Brookstone School in Columbus, Georgia, has educated and prepared thousands of students for college for the last 60 years. As a college preparatory school known for its strong academic program with an emphasis on leadership and service, Brookstone has always aimed to optimally serve its more than 800 students and their families.

The Challenge

Prior to implementing PowerSchool Registration, Brookstone processed its inquiries, applications, and enrollment using paper processes, telephone calls, and large mailings of information packets, forms, brochures, contracts, and more. Administrative staff would sift through papers, manually enter data into their student information system, organize and shuffle paper files, and store years of them on campus. Brookstone accepts applications on a rolling basis for 3K-12 students, thus administrators were constantly handling and processing papers while trying to spend quality time with current and prospective families.

In 2012, the administration at Brookstone School reached out to the PowerSchool Registration team looking for a better way to serve current and prospective families in the school’s admission and enrollment processes and reduce the paper chase. Enrollment Associate and Database Manager, Judi Butler, was charged with implementation and design of Brookstone’s online systems. “We wanted our potential and current families to access, review, update, and submit data quickly and easily,” says Butler. Additionally, Brookstone wanted to remove any barriers to inquiry and application for prospective families.

This included inquiries, applications, admissions tracker, online decisions, and re-enrollment, including the annual enrollment contract. Brookstone has moved its business processes entirely online, with fantastic results.
