NEW! PowerSchool 8.0 Delivers Amazing New Features
The latest version of PowerSchool brings exciting change to the continuous evolution of the student information system. Developed to meet schools' evolving needs and expectations for information management, PowerSchool 8.0's new features include enhanced customization capabilities. This feature improves the performance, scalability and flexibility of PowerSchool, making it a powerful, extensible solution that can manage the common and unique administrative processes of any K-12 customer.
Teachers can now launch the Gradebook using a method that protects against Java updates and does not require browser plugins! After running a quick setup process, teachers can take advantage of the new launch method and enjoy the same Gradebook features they use today. In addition, the new Gradebook launch method provides a desktop shortcut that allows direct sign-in to the Gradebook.
It is now possible to attach documents and files directly to a student's core record in the Administrative Portion of PowerSchool. See all of a student's attachments on one screen, or use the powerful Search Attachments group function to search for and manage documents for all of the students in your selection at one time.
Within PowerSchool, you can embed links to other educational tools and allow users to connect to these systems without entering additional login credentials. Custom plugins created by licensed PowerSchool partners can now be installed by PowerSchool system administrators. This new feature allows automatic plugin registration, single sign-on, school-level access and PowerSchool data exchange. Event API sends notifications to external systems when data changes. Assign any number of teachers or staff to a section. With co-teaching, any number of teachers and staff can be associated with a section. Additional teachers can have their own level of access to PowerTeacher Gradebook and PowerTeacher Portal.
Parents and guardians can view their children's Schoolnet assessment data. The Parent Portal has assessment data from Schoolnet. Parents can review student's item-by-item test results to better understand their strengths.
The new seating chart available in PowerTeacher makes setting up seating charts and taking attendance easy and intuitive. New students show up immediately and the student photos make it easy to configure classroom settings, including furniture, with free form and standard drag-and-drop formats.
The Validation rules feature in PowerSchool can be configured district-wide and applied to almost any system or custom field in the Students or Teachers tables. Administrators can apply multiple rules per field and configurations can include Text Rules, Number Rules and Date rules.
Data Validation Report
Along with the Data Validation tool, a Data Validation Report is also available. This report, accessible through the Student Group Function and Staff Group Function, will scan for students or teachers and staff records that contain invalid data.
The session management feature will give a warning before the session times out so you can either save all your information or continue without losing all entered data.
